* Under normal circumstances the minimum amount of Pilers needed to create a 4 stack would be 3. But by utilizing belts of different speeds its possible to create a a 4 pile with just two. The idea is to run a higher speed belt into the first Piler, and belt out with a lower belt speed- for example MK2 Belt-> Piler -> MK1 Belt -> Piler. This has applications in a Fractionator Hydrogen feed, to use less expensive belt over large distances, or even to allow for slower sorters to transport much more cargo. Note that a downgrade from MK3 to MK2 will lower the total throughput, while a downgrade from MK2 to MK1 does not. Summary
An Automatic Piler can stack or unstack items. The stacking occurs when the belt enters the Piler from its smaller side, unpiling happens when it enters from the larger side. To pile items two consecutive items have to follow directly on the entering belt. Only items of the same type can be combined into one stack. Two double-stacked cargos can be stacked again into a four-stack. Triple-stack can be created from a double-stack followed by an unstacked cargo, or vice-versa. The maximum stack limit is a 4-stack. When unstacking, a double-stack will be split into single items, one coming directly after another, a 4-stack will be split into two 2-stacks, and a 3-stack will be split into a 2-stack and a single item. Automatic Pilers can be stacked one onto another. The baseline building limit is 7, increased by 3 per each level of the Vertical Construction upgrade, up to the maximum of 25.
