The Pile Sorter can be upgraded using the Pile Sorter Upgrade technology to eventually transport the entire capacity of a Conveyor Belt Mk.III.

The following table shows the impact of upgrade level on how quickly a single pile sorter can unload onto a belt at various distances; plus the combined unloading speed of 3 pile sorters onto the same belt at distance 1.
