Various styles of splitters.

Using the Tab key lets the Player chose between 3 different splitter variants.
To filter / sort items via Splitter it is necessary to click the small dots of its context Menu. You can only set one filter for input and output at a time.
Splitters can be stacked on top of each other, with the stacking limit being the same as for the storage, determined by the current level of Vertical Construction upgrade.
Storage MK.I can be built on top of the Splitter. In this way, the cargo in Storage MK.I can also be distributed in and out via the Splitter. However, please note that this feature can only output cargo with a stacking quantity of 1.

It is also possible to additionally place a Logistics Distributor on that splitter-storage, turning it effectively into a mini PLS of sorts.

- The storage does not show up on the splitter's priority/filter settings pop-up -- meaning you cannot make it the priority output in order to create a reserve for you to later access; nor can you filter which material from the belts will go into the storage.
- Though the storage can fill up if the splitter's output belt(s) (if any) can't remove items as quickly as they arrive on it's input belt(s).
- The storage will empty as quickly as possible on all output belts -- even if the splitter has one output set as priority the storage contents will be output on all output belts.
- The storage & splitter combo does not require power.
