Grating Crystal is a rare ore used to easily produce Photon Combiners and Casimir Crystals. It is also part of the Advanced Mining Machine recipe.

Grating Crystal is extremely valuable in the late game, as it greatly simplifies production of Photon Combiners (necessary for Solar Sails) and Casimir Crystals (necessary for Quantum Chips and, by extension, Small Carrier Rockets).

Small amounts of Grating Crystal can be randomly obtained by breaking rocks on lava planets.
