Geothermal Power Station
Power Facility
A power generation facility using magma as an energy source. Combine multiple consecutive low-energy photons into one high-energy photon, and input energy to the grid stably. The power generation is directly related to the concentration of magma.

Summary

The **Geothermal Power Station** is a power plant which generates energy from the heat within lava. It must be placed on top of a pool of lava in order to function. Its power production varies depending on where exactly it is placed; the optimal placement is in the center of a lava lake, where efficiency is highest.

Geothermal Power Stations are fully renewable-- they require no refueling or maintenance once placed. This is highly advantageous, especially for small or medium-sized remote outposts. Of course, the power station requires lava to operate, and is thus only useful on planets with lava on them.

Player Tips & Tricks

- The closer to the edge of magma pools, the less magma is concentrated and the less energy can be gained; try to place them so that they're in the center of lava concentrations for maximum effect. - The Geothermal Power Station is a good choice for a quick, cheap, easy source of renewable power on a small-to-medium-sized outpost; it generates a respectable amount of power 24/7 and never needs to be checked on.
