Summary

Fire Ice, more formally methane clathrate, is a rare ore (and fuel item) composed of methane trapped in crystalized water. It can be mined from Fire Ice veins on the surfaces of some planets, or can be collected from the atmospheres of ice giants by Orbital Collectors. It can be refined in a Chemical Plant to produce graphene and hydrogen. It can also be burned for power in Thermal Power Stations.

Player Tips & Tricks

Fire Ice is extremely useful, and despite being a rare material, is somewhat ubiquitous. It is possible (though not extremely common) to have Fire Ice in your home system. Fire Ice can be harvested from some Ice Giants, many glacieon planets, and some other types of planets as well.
