Deuterium

From the Dyson Sphere Program Wiki
Deuterium
Material, Fuel
A stable isotope of hydrogen. Rarely exists under natural conditions. Most of them come from the reprocessing of hydrogen and the collection from the Gas Giant.

Player Tips & Tricks

  • Using Fractionators to produce Deuterium is roughly 2.5 times more energy efficient (using Mk.III Conveyor Belts) than Particle Colliders. It takes more space to set up but works in a simple loop (with a buffer liquid storage slowly refilled with Hydrogen). A Fractionator processing Hydrogen piled four times using the Automatic Piler consumes 1.375 times as much energy per Deuterium as a normal Fractionator, with throughput closer to the Particle Collider's Deuterium production, and it can be a middle ground on energy usage and space while retaining the 1:1 Hydrogen to Deuterium conversion.
